Usually the best model for any given application is the one with the most spatial resolution, and the best sensitivity. Therefore a T6xx series camera would be best. However, not all budgets allow that luxury. A good compromise would be a 320 x 240 res camera like a T4xx series or an E60 at lower price points.

Although a Thermal Imager may be used to find areas of moisture with insulated equipment. Thermography is not well suited for Identifying and confirming corrosion under insulation such as plant piping or vessels. Profile RT (Coke Shot) or RFT is best suited for this application. Especially if the insulation is cladded.
