Flir Tau and UAV
I'm looking to expand my infrared business to now include larger building envelops (vertical) and as such was looking to get an Octocopter (8 bladed RC copter) platform to carry a Tau 640 camera mounted on a gimbal.

Has anyone every tried a similar combination and if so, how successful was your investment?

RE: Flir Tau and UAV
Hi Isee,
I worked with Draganfly on integrating the Tau into their miniature helicopter:

You can call Cory Baker at 1-800-979-9794 ext 6104
There are many others as well, but I am most familiar with Draganfly and they seem like a good organization with a good product. They are located in Canada.

RE: Flir Tau and UAV
Ok it has been a while since my original post.

Has anyone been airborne with an ANY IR camera?
How feasible is it?
Can you get enough detail to satisfy a client requirement or is it still better to walk the roof?

I have my UAV flying now but with an HD video camera only.

(Not fancy...only the 2nd flight...notice the auto-land feature)
