ITC Optical Gas Imaging and Furnace Inspection
Many industrial gases and chemical compounds are invisible to the naked eye, yet companies transport and transform these ingredients every day.

Optical imaging using FLIR GF-Series thermal cameras offers a number of benefits compared to traditional “sniffers” because they scan a broader area much more rapidly and in areas that are difficult to reach with contact measurement tools. Infrared displays a leak as a plume of vapor in the infrared image. Once a leak is found from a safe distance, you can use your TVA to quantify the concentration.

RE: Optical Gas Imaging and Furnace Inspection
Gary,
I am new to thermography and am especially interested in the optical gas imaging application for gas/oil industry, however I do not want to drop IR for electrical surveys. Is there a camera which can be utilized for both applications?
Thanks-Ken

Yes, the cameras can also be used for standard condition monitoring applications. Just check the spec sheets to be sure the specific model has the temperature range you need.
