Search for mirror material
Dear All,

I am building a laser heating system that based on CO2 laser(power - 100 watt; beam diameter of the laser beam 9 mm) and there I need to visually observe my sample during heating.
Therefore, I am searching for a mirror that would be either transparent for far infrared and reflecting for visual spectra or other way around. So I can separate at some point the infrared signal and visual signal.

Due to geometry of sample chamber I can separate the optical path starting from the beginning. I would deeply appreciate any suggestions.

I know that Si and Germanium are transparent for 10.2 um, but from our experience average wafers degrading under the 100 watt laser and need to be replace regularly.

RE: Search for mirror material
It sounds like you are looking for an IR beamsplitter. Google "IR beamsplitter" and contact companies that come up from the search.
